Alicia Fordham, Reg. Ac. (Registered Acupuncturist)
As a teen I would go to see an Acupuncturist in my hometown of Halifax. I’ve been lucky since then to study a variety of things, and to work in the arts, but the healing I encountered in those treatments had really caught my attention. Later, living in New York City and working for a busy events company, I met an Acupuncturist who helped me with some stubborn health concerns, inspiring me to follow in his footsteps and train. After an intensive course of study in Toronto, a clinical internship, passing the Pan-Canadian board exams and joining the Nova Scotia Association of Acupuncturists, I worked in a busy community clinic in downtown Toronto as well as my own private practice.
My practice is guided by current research, observation of what works best for my patients, and a rich body of knowledge passed down through the centuries. With general practice, I enjoy the diversity of my days, and the constant opportunities for learning. Recently, I have been treating headaches, insomnia, chronic pain, and menstrual disorders. When you come to see me, we’ll dive into the details of what ails you, and I’ll work to understand what lies at the root of your discomfort, pain, or illness.
While not practicing at Momentum Wellness, you’ll find me spending time with friends and family, trying my hand at a variety of creative pursuits, nerding out on Acupuncture study, and if I’m lucky, jumping into a big, beautiful body of water.
