Monica Miller, RMT (Massage Therapist) Ideal Protein Weight Loss Coach Monica graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Psychology from Saint Mary's University. In 2003 she graduated from ICT Northumberland College with her Massage Therapy Diploma (Honours) and has since obtained further training in Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Deep Tissue Massage. Monica began working in St Margaret's Bay in 2004 and has happily made it her home. Monica is also an Ideal Protein Weight Loss Coach and brings an extensive fitness/sports background to the table. She currently competes in Obstacle Course Racing and has volunteered extensively as a member of the Massage Therapists' Association of NS where she sits on the Board of Directors.
Lana Liable, TCMD (Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture) Dr. Lana has always been fascinated with complimentary medicine and loves to share the importance of taking responsibility for one’s health. As a student, patient, and health care professional, she approaches wellness as a partnership utilizing acupuncture, herbal therapy, diet and exercise to support the patient/client in regaining optimal health and quality of life. Dr. Lana comes to us from the open skies of the prairies and, after some time on our west coast, completed the five year full time study to receive her doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Oshio College of Acupuncture & Herbology, Victoria, British Columbia. She is a professional member in good standing with the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC) as well as, locally with Nova Scotia CMAAC. Lana is extremely passionate about the beauty and art of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has seen first hand how well patients respond to this age old medicine and how Traditional Chinese medicinepermits a natural, non invasive path to healing, resulting in allowing patients to achieve their wellness goals.
Melissa DeCoste, RMT (Massage Therapist) Melissa graduated from the 2200 hour massage therapy program in 2016 at Eastern College with Honours. She enjoys working with major chronic issues, pregnancies, working with the fascia, and applying joint mobilization within the treatments. Melissa was always very active in the community where she grew up. Since graduating from Sir John A MacDonald High School (Honours) in 2011 she has been teaching young adults about wrestling which was inspired after her brother got her involved in the sport at 12 years old. Melissa knows the importance of proper stretching and incorporates into her treatment home care. Melissa is very passionate about massage and enjoys being able to help people.
Heather Arsenault, MSW, RSW (Clinical Social Worker) Heather graduated with a Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary and started her career working in Community Addictions and Mental Health in Calgary working with people of all ages and with a variety of concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, relationship concerns, personality disorders, substance use, and self-injury. She relocated to her home province of Nova Scotia in 2016 and began working in Community Mental Health as well as starting private practice. She works with children, adolescents and adults. Heather believes in working collaboratively with individuals to reach their goals in therapy. Her approach is supportive and she believes in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship. She has training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindful Motherhood, and utilizes other approaches such as lifestyle therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She strongly believes in a holistic approach to wellness and is inspired everyday by the strength and resilience of people.
